Hurricane Maria was the strongest storm faced by “boricuas” in generations. With category 4 winds and a extremely slow ground speed, it battered Puerto Rico for 12 hrs. Sunlight came to all but a few, a sign of relief! Yet with the sunrise came a harsh new reality, a new world we where never prepared to face. Hundreds died in the following days without electricity, hospitals shut-down, food and gasoline where scare and looting, violence and uncertainty broke out throughout many parts of the island. Communications where down and not even satellite phones could reach loved ones. Those where the darkest days of this island. These pictures relate the hardships and emotions faced by Puertorricans after Maria. All these pictures depict a post-Maria Puerto Rico.
